What working together looks like:
On the day of the session, I'll guide and prompt you as much or as little as you need, ensuring you're supported every step of the way. My approach is slow, intentional, and full of playful moments. There is no expectation for perfection, just space to be you. With two wild boys and experience working with neurodiverse children, I know how to adapt to each individual's needs and allow the session to flow smoothly. Our time together will feel relaxed, fun, and intentional. When we focus on movement, laughter, connection, and play, your story unfolds naturally.

Your images will be delivered via an online gallery within 3-5 weeks of your session date. You will be able to download your images and purchase beautiful, high-quality prints and albums directly through the online store. Your beautiful art doesn't belong on your computer, it deserves to be showcased in your home in print!

Once you've booked your session, the fun begins! I'll send a questionnaire to help me get to know you and to better understand your vision. You'll also receive a prep guide filled with styling and location tips, and everything you need to feel confident and prepared for your upcoming session. Closer to your session, we will chat over Zoom call so I can answer any questions and plan your dream session together!

And no need to spend extra money on outfits! If you’d rather shop your own wardrobe or purchase something special, I’m here to help! I’ll guide you in selecting outfits that photograph beautifully and reflect your personal style and connection as a family.

Telling your authentic story starts from the moment you inquire. I take the time to really get to know you and your family, and then we work closely to plan out the session of your dreams.
During the session, I give you space to be yourselves, while guiding you as little or as much as you need.
My sessions are full of movement, play, and connection, which allows you to settle in and genuinely enjoy the moment.
I'm not there to capture an idea of you I have in my head, I'm there to capture you as you are, authentically and artfully. Through noticing the little details and moments, I capture your love as it truly is!
How do you balance authentic moments with artistic photographs?
Q:
I believe the most meaningful photographs happen when genuine moments are given the space to unfold naturally. Every location, composition, and use of light is chosen with intention, creating the perfect setting for your story to unfold. I'll gently guide you into beautiful light, natural movement, and meaningful connection, then step back and allow your unique interactions to lead the way. Beautiful photographs aren't created by choosing between authenticity and artistry. They happen when the two work together. The result is imagery that feels honest, emotional, and thoughtfully crafted without ever feeling forced.

What happens if it is raining?
Q:
Reschedules are decided the morning of the session as our weather is so unpredictable. Reschedules are made for rain or any other extreme weather. We do not reschedule for cloud cover and I cannot guarantee a sunset unfortunately.

How many people can be part of the session?
Q:
Up to 6 people are included in the session fee. After that, it is an extra fee per person. I do not do extended family sessions at this time.

What happens if my kids don't cooperate?
Q:
The one thing that I have learned from both, being a mother and a family photographer, is that kids do best when we go into something with no expectations. My sessions are play based and low-pressure, allowing for kids to open up and be their authentic selves. When they don't want to do something, or they are unhappy, we just give them space and move onto something different.
Through my 18 year career in Nursing, and being the mama of a neurodivergent child, I am very comfortable working with children of all abilities. The tools that I have gained allow me to meet every child where they are at, and together, we create beautiful and authentic images that capture your family's beautiful story!

Can my partner and children be included in my maternity session?
Q:
Absolutely! I love to incorporate your family into maternity sessions. I believe this is how we capture your current season of life authentically and artfully. My sessions are full of movement, connection, and play, making them perfect for telling your family's unique story.

How do we book a newborn session when we don't know when baby will come?
Q:
Newborn sessions are booked based on your due date. This holds your spot and then we set a date that works for us both once your little one arrives. Newborn sessions are weekdays, mid day. I suggest booking your newborn session between 16-28 weeks to ensure availability.
For those sleepy images, newborn sessions are ideally done between 1-3 weeks of age. Because my style is lifestyle based and focused on connection, this time frame is flexible!

What should I wear for maternity photos?
Q:
When planning your outfits for your maternity session, it is important to focus on comfort and movement. My sessions are full of movement, play, and connection and you want to be able to move freely in your outfits.
I like to start with the feeling or vibe you want to have in your images, and then take the location into consideration. For example, for a cozy in-home session, you don't want to wear an elaborate gown! Instead, choose an outfit that makes sense for the story you are wanting to tell.
I love incorporating different fabrics and textures when planning outfits. Natural fabrics such as linen or flowy fabrics are beautiful for beach sessions.

When is the best time to do a maternity session?
Q:
Maternity sessions are ideally done between 28-34 weeks. This is to be sure that your bump is showing but you are still comfortable. Each person is different and some prefer to do sessions earlier when it is a pregnancy with multiples or it is not their first. Mamas of multiples often do their sessions about 4-6 weeks earlier.

Do you help with planning outfits and/or location?
Q:
I work closely with my clients to plan their session! I am available to help with outfit styling, hair and makeup artist suggestions, location options etc. Each package includes a questionnaire, prep guides, and a phone or zoom consult so that we can personalize your session.

How do you choose locations?
Q:
I choose locations based on a clients needs/wants but I also ensure that the location has good lighting that time of day, isn't too busy, and has a lot of room for us to move around.

What time of day are your sessions held?
Q:
My outdoor session start times are 1-2 hours before sunset based on location and weather. Sunrise sessions may also be an option for those super early risers! For in-home and newborn sessions, these are during daylight hours.

Turn around time may vary but is generally 4-5 weeks. Please see your contract for specific details.

Do you offer mini sessions?
Q:
I don't offer traditional "mini" sessions. I offer half-sessions which are a full 30 minutes but sessions are only held a couple of times of year and are on specific dates/locations. Join my email list to be first to be notified!

Q:
For portrait sessions, I allow between 1-3 hours based on the package that you choose. This is an estimate and timing is primarily based on how much time is needed to capture your family authentically.

For areas outside of this, a travel fee would apply. I am always open to travel for a session, so send me a message! Travel fees are waived if I am already in your area so you can also inquire about my travel schedule! I often travel to Vancouver!
