I first met this beautiful family when I put out a model call for a sunset beach session in May. When Breanne contacted me, I knew that her and her family would be the perfect fit for my vision. They made the trek with their two little ones from Langley to Crescent beach. We spent our time exploring the beach, playing in the water, and chasing the light. At the time of our session, little baby B was only the size of a plum! I was so excited that I was going to meet baby B they contacted me to do their newborn photography session in their Langley home! One of my favorite part of this job is watching families grow and documenting each step of the way.

As a newborn photographer, one of the first things that I like to do when i go to a client’s home, is spend a little bit of time with the older siblings. This allows me to connect with them before the session, and makes them feel like the session is also about them. One of the best ways to do this is to get them to show me around their home. The Thirsk family had recently moved into their new Langley home, and Hudson and Ari were so excited to show me their new room!! After spending a little time with the older siblings, we found a perfect spot with beautiful light and a gorgeous window and began the session.
We did the entire shoot in one room (this happens in many homes), but were able to get a great variety of images. One of the biggest concerns that I hear from clients about in-home newborn sessions is about their home not being clean enough or pinterest-worthy. There is really no need to clean your entire house while you are exhausted in those first few days with a newborn. All I need is one area with beautiful light, and we can make magic!
