Vancouver Lifestyle Newborn Photography

Those first few days after having a baby are the most amazing and challenging days of a new parent’s life. I remember the first time I saw my sweet baby boy; I could not believe that this little life that grew inside of me was now out in the world and relied completely on me for everything. So much love and joy filled my heart. My world had changed forever.

Being a newborn photographer myself, I thought that I would take all of my own photos! But that was the last thing on my mind between my own recovery exhaustion, and learning to navigate the needs of my new little one. After the first couple of days, the adrenaline started to wear off and I began to feel the pure exhaustion that those early newborn days bring. Although I took a few of my own photos, I truly regret not hiring someone to capture those precious moments in the early days.

What to expect from your newborn lifestyle session

As a newborn photographer, I feel so honoured to be invited into a family’s home to capture the intimate connection of their newly changed family.  In-home lifestyle newborn photography is such a great way to capture those first memories when life is a complete blur. These relaxed sessions take place in the comfort of your own home. Although there is no traditional posing, I will place you in the best location and prompt you and your family to interact. This allows for more natural interactions between your family while keeping the focus on capturing sincere emotion and connection.

What if my baby is fussy?

Lifestyle sessions are completely directed by your little one. Babies are posed in safe and natural positions and are only put in positions that your baby is comfortable in. You can expect a sessions to last about 1-1.5 hours which allows for those natural interruptions such as feeding and diaper changes.  All you need to do is relax and snuggle your sweet little baby and I will do the rest 🙂 Think of it as a family photography session with focus on the newest tiny member!
