White Rock Beach Maternity Session

This beautiful White Rock Beach Maternity session took place on the perfect summer evening. Mud Bay Park is one of my favorite locations for any type of session. It has a beautiful combination of tall grass, wildflowers, golden light, and ocean views. There is room to move and explore which allows for a variety of natural images and movement. It is the perfect location for those dreamy, romantic images.

Cassondra was open for anything during our session. We planned out the day beforehand and I created a mood board. We chose this White Rock Beach location as it aligned with our vision for her maternity session. I work closely with every client to individualize each session to capture images that are unique to their personal story. From a questionnaire, styling guide to a one on one planning call, we cover every aspect of your session before the date. During the session, I guide you into the ideal light and location, and prompt you to create natural moments and connection. Beautiful light, natural moments, sincere connection, laughter, and love all come together to create genuine and natural images that tell your family’s story.

When looking for an ideal location, there are a few things that I look for. An ideal location has a variety of backdrops and room to explore. You must also be aware of which direction the sun will be setting at, and if there will be crowds that will make it difficult to find room to move around. For example, this White Rock Beach maternity session had a large grassy field, ocean views, and a sandy beach. When the tide is out, there is miles of beach and tide pools to explore. This can also be applied to urban locations. You can start by taking photos at a coffee shop, then explore the city streets, and end the day at a rooftop parking garage! This variety allows for your images to tell a story instead of standard posed portrait images.

What is your dream location? What elements draw you to certain images? These are all questions that you should ask yourself before choosing a location for you upcoming photography session.
